| THE
ISSUES: | Some
of the questions to be addressed: - What
are the essential elements of a fair and effective interview? In respect of job
applications? Performance appraisals? Promotions?
- What
defects in the interview process will result in invalidation of the results by
arbitrators or tribunals?
- What
questions must be avoided in order to comply with human rights and privacy legislation?
- How
should interviews be scripted and marked in order to minimize subjective evaluation
by members of the interviewing panel?
- Are
employees entitled to review the notes of interviewers? The marking scheme? Their
marks?
- When
should members of the interviewing panel step aside on the ground of bias or the
appearance of bias?
