Carmela Allevato is legal counsel with the British Columbia Teachers' Federation. Carmela's legal expertise is complemented by significant collective bargaining and organizational leadership experience, having served as chief executive officer and chief bargainer for HEU during health care restructuring. She also worked for a number of years as counsel for CUPE. Carmela is a frequent speaker at conferences and continuing education seminars, and occasionally instructs legal and labour courses at Vancouver Island University and BCIT. Carmela was called to the B.C. Bar in 1979. |
