| Sandra Anderson is a partner at FieldLaw where she conducts a general litigation practice primarily in the areas of labour and employment and privacy law, acting for both employers and employees. Sandra has been counsel in labour arbitrations, judicial reviews, and information access & privacy law matters, as well as in Boards of Reference and Ministerial Reviews under the School Act. She has appeared in the Alberta courts at all levels and in the Supreme Court of Canada and served as counsel in the wrongful sterilization cases against the Government of Alberta.
Prior to obtaining her law degree from the University of Calgary in 1989, Sandra obtained a Ph.D. in German literature, helped found an alternative public school in Calgary, and was elected for two terms as a trustee on the Calgary Board of Education, where she became chairperson. Sandra was a long-term member and Chair of the Board of Regents of Augustana University College in Camrose, Alberta, prior to its merger with the University of Alberta in July 2004. She has served in all of the executive positions on the Board of the Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law and Education, (CAPSLE). She is also on the Board of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta North Central Region and has been active in the CBA labour and employment, privacy, education, and administrative law section. Besides her dissertation, Sandra has published a number of articles in the field of education and coauthored a chapter in Remedies in Labour, Employment and Human Rights Law (J. T. Casey, ed.). |
