William
Armstrong is a partner in Laird Armstrong, a law firm in Calgary, where he represents
management in labour relations matters. Mr. Armstrong has practiced labour
relations and employment law since graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in
1977. He has represented clients from a wide range of industries in many notable
labour relations disputes in Alberta and has been counsel in several important
precedent-setting cases. Prior to entering law school, he obtained his Bachelor
of Science degree from McGill University and served as an officer in the Canadian
Forces for four years. Bill was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2000. Bill has lectured
extensively on all aspects of labour and employment law, including administering
collective agreements, grievance arbitration, wrongful dismissal and human rights.
