| Sibel Ataogul is a litigator with Melançon Marceau Grenier & Sciortino, a union-side labour law firm in Montréal. The firm is heavily involved in the successful Charter-challenge against Québec Bill 30, which fused bargaining units in the Québec health care sector. The firm is also currently involved in other Charter-based challenges against bills that are similar to the legislation at issue in the B.C. Health Services case.
Sibel has been involved in many high-profile certification-related cases in Quebec, such as the Wal-Mart case and the certification of foreign agricultural workers under the federal Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program. She is currently co-counsel for CEP local 175 in the case against Petro-Canada for its violation of the anti-scab provisions in the Quebec Labour Code in their refinery in Montreal. |
