George Avraam is a partner with Baker & McKenzie in Toronto. He practices in the Labour, Employment and Employee Benefits group, with a focus on trial and appellate litigation, focusing specifically on labour and employment law, administrative and public law, pension law, privacy law, education law, professional discipline, class actions, and fiduciary duties. George has acted as lead counsel on numerous matters, including trials, appeals, judicial reviews, class actions, and injunctions, and has been lead counsel before several administrative tribunals, as well as in every trial and appellate court in Ontario, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
George is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; the Ontario Bar Association (Executive Member, Labour Law Section 2004-2005); the Advocates Society; the Canadian Association of University Solicitors; and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers. He was admitted to practice law in Ontario in 1999. George received his Bachelor of Arts from York University in 1993, his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1997, and his Masters of Laws (Administrative Law) from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002. |
