| Judith Begley is a partner in the Moncton law firm Begley Lordon. She has practiced in the workplace law field for her entire career. Judy advises unions and non‑unionized employees on a broad scope of workplace‑related matters, including collective agreement negotiation, interpretation and administration, human rights, workers’ compensation, Canada Pension Plan, employment standards and wrongful dismissal matters. Judy is also frequently retained to conduct independent workplace investigations and reviews. She has appeared before various administrative tribunals, Provincial Courts, Courts of Queen’s Bench, and provincial and federal Courts of Appeal.
Judy frequently speaks at seminars and workshops on workplace issues. Most recently, she has presented on "Workplace Peacekeeping: Handling conflict between employees and dealing with differences between employees and supervisors," "Effective Workplace Investigations," "Employer-Employee Meetings and Dealings: When should the union be in the room? When can management go it alone?," and "Workplace investigations – protecting rights, achieving fairness."
Judy is a member of the Competence Committee of the Law Society of New Brunswick and is a Past President of the Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law in Education. She is a member of the Capitol Theatre Foundation Board of Governors and the Board of Directors for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Moncton. She has been called to the Bar and has practiced in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario. |
