
| | Stephen Bird is a partner with Bird Richard in Ottawa. He has spent his entire legal career representing management in labour and employment law and workers’ compensation issues. As a former in-house labour law counsel to the country’s largest Crown Corporation, and as a management-side labour law practitioner in private practice since 1992, Stephen has appeared in hundreds of labour arbitrations, acted as chief negotiator in numerous sets of collective agreement negotiations, been involved in major cases before federal and provincial labour boards, and has appeared at all levels of the Ontario and Federal courts. Stephen has been a member of the Ontario Bar since 1988, the Bar of the Northwest Territories since 1994, the Bar of Nunavut since 1999, and the Bar of Alberta since 2007. He holds a Master’s Degree in European Employment Law from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Ottawa.
