| Maurice Bitran is the Director of the Occupational Health and Safety Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Maurice returned to the Ministry of Labour in April 2008 after ten years working in research, innovation, and occupational health and safety in several capacities. He directed the Ontario Research and Development Challenge Fund, the Ontario Ethanol Growth Fund, and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ Research and Innovation Branch.
Maurice is also a member and former chair of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, Physical Agents TLV Committee and holds a status appointment at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Toronto where he teaches a graduate course in radiological health. Maurice obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from the University of Chile and a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Florida (U.S.A.). |
