Anita Braha provides legal advice, education, investigation and mediation services to unions, employers and non-profit organizations on human rights issues, including equal pay, sexual harassment and the duty to accommodate. She also provides education with regard to appropriate labour processes, and the conduct of workplace investigations. She practised law, principally in the human rights and labour areas, from 1988 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, she was the Interim Director, Human Resources and Labour Relations and Director of Labour Relations at Vancouver Community College. After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) at York University, Anita received an M.A. from the University of Toronto in 1983 and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall in 1986. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1988 and in British Columbia in 1990. Anita has taught courses on human rights and the duty to accommodate at Capilano College. She edits the Annotated British Columbia Human Rights Code for Canada Law Book. She has acted as the National Co-ordinator of the National Association of Women and the Law and has been the co-chair of the Human Rights Section of the B.C. CBA. |
