
| | Israel Chafetz is a partner in the law firm of Taylor Jordan Chafetz Barristers and Solicitors in Vancouver, B.C.. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree from the University of Manitoba, his Master of Science degree in Labour Relations from the University of British Columbia, and his law degree from Queen’s University. Israel has published short stories, articles, comments, and professional papers for academic and legal journals. In 2006, he received a Queen’s Counsel appointment.
Israel has participated in two short story writing competitions published by the legal journal “The Advocate,” where, in 2001, he came in third place, and in 2009 was awarded first place. Also in 2009, he published his first book, “Ben’s Way Out.” Israel also gives lectures on the law and participates in community service for both cultural and philanthropic
organizations.
