
| | Bill Cole is the head of the Nelligan O'Brien Payne Union Consulting Group. In this capacity Bill has represented police, firefighters, airline pilots, health care workers, federal public servants and private sector unions in collective bargaining, mediation and interest arbitration. He also represents unions in grievance arbitration. Bill speaks regularly on current legal issues and provides various levels of bargaining training to union negotiators. Bill has a Master of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School where his research interests included mediation and interest arbitration in the public sector. Bill has taught labour law at Carleton University, and is on the faculty of a joint Harvard law school, University of Ottawa Executive Program for union leaders in the police and fire fighter sectors. Recently, Bill was a guest faculty member at Harvard Law School’s “Trade Union Program,” where he spoke on advanced negotiation issues. He was a firefighter for nineteen years prior to joining Nelligan O'Brien Payne. During that time he was the youngest and longest serving president in that organization's history. |
