Brian Cook was appointed as a Vice-Chair of the new Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario in September, 2008, where he adjudicates and mediates applications brought under the Ontario Human Rights Code. From 1990 to 2008, he was a Vice-Chair of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, adjudicating appeals from decisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. He holds an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School in Alternative Dispute Resolution (2005).
