James Dorsey is an arbitrator, grievance investigator and mediator. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the employment relationship as an arbitrator since 1976; Vice-Chair, Canada Labour Relations Board (1977-82); Member, Vancouver Police Board (1988-91); Chair, Board of Governors, Workers' Compensation Board of B.C. (1990-1994); President/CEO, Workers' Compensation Board of B.C. (1993-94); B.C. Health Sector Labour Relations Commissioner (1995); Saskatchewan Health Labour Relations Reorganization Commissioner (1996-97); Chair, Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Review Committee (2001); Chair, Nova Scotia Workers' Compensation Review Committee (2001-02); Chair, Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Review Committee (2006); Reviewer Metro Vancouver Labour Relations Function (2011). He has been involved in preparing collective bargaining, employment standards, workers' compensation and occupational health and safety legislation and has written several books and articles on employment law issues. As counsel he has represented unions, employers and employees. |
