| Don Eady practises union-side labour law, employment law, administrative law and government relations with Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein. He has considerable experience in all aspects of labour relations, occupational health and safety and workers' compensation. Don has acted as counsel to trade unions with particular emphasis on internal union disputes, picketing and strike-related legal matters, union certifications, successor rights and grievance arbitration matters. He is also counsel to a number of pension and benefit plans, and has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and trial and appellate courts in Ontario. In 1992-1993 Don was Special Assistant to the Ontario Ministry of Labour. He was involved in the development of the Crown Employees Collective Bargaining Act, as well as amendments to the Labour Relations Act, the Workers' Compensation Act and regulations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. With Ian Roland and Robert Centa, Don was counsel to the Ontario Public Service Employees Union in the Walkerton inquiry.
Don is a co-author of Ontario Public Sector Employment & Labour Law (2005, Irwin Law). He is also a frequent speaker at conferences on issues ranging from human rights law to construction labour relations and is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. |
