Cheryl Edwards is a partner at Heenan Blaikie in Toronto where she leads in the national OHS and Workers’ Compensation practice group, and represents employers, constructors, supervisors, officers and directors at OHS regulatory trials, complaints, inquests and appeals. She also advises and conducts litigation in labour relations and employment matters, including grievance arbitration, employment standards, wrongful dismissal, human rights and workers’ compensation matters. She was partner at a boutique labour and employment firm before joining Heenan Blaikie. Ms. Edwards is an associate editor and writes regularly for Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine. She is a member of the Editorial Board for Ontario OH&S Law Report, a newsletter which provides practical advice to management on health and safety matters. She is co-author of a leading loose-leaf text The Employer's Health and Safety Manual – Ontario, and has authored detailed CLV Special Reports for Carswell, entitled Due Diligence: A Practical Guide, Due Diligence in Contracting: A Practical Guide, and Organizational Liability for OHS Under Bill C-45. She is recognized as a leading occupational health and safety practitioner by Lexpert. |
