Alec Farquhar is Managing Director of the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers. OHCOW has six multi-disciplinary clinics in Ontario focusing on the detection and prevention of occupational injuries and diseases. Alec was formerly Director, Occupational Health and Safety Branch, Ontario Ministry of Labour, responsible for provincial level development of operational health and safety programs and related partnerships within the prevention system. Prior to that, Alec was Director, Ontario Office of the Worker Adviser (OWA), Ministry of Labour. Alec graduated from Princeton University in 1973 and from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 1976. He worked as a community legal worker and staff lawyer in community legal clinics, then as manager Special Services, OWA. Alec also served as senior policy advisor to the Chair of the WCB before being appointed OWA Director. He has chaired or presented at numerous Ontario Bar Association and Law Society Continuing Legal Education events. |
