Ian Fellows is a partner in the firm of Ursel Phillips Fellows Hopkinson. Ian and his firm represent trade unions and employees in all matters relating to workplace and labour law, and regularly appear before courts, arbitrators, labour boards, human rights tribunals, and other administrative tribunals. He frequently advises trade unions and employees on matters of disability and reasonable accommodation in the workplace. As a law student, Ian was employed in the legal department of the Information and Privacy Commission (Ontario). He obtained an LL.B. degree from the University of Toronto Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994. In addition to conducting education seminars for trade unions, Ian has been a guest speaker at events hosted by the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario) Labour Law Section, the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, and the Ontario Crown Attorneys’ School. His clients include trade unions from the education, transit, police, construction, and private sectors, as well as those involved in the entertainment industry. As an adjunct to his labour law practice, Ian also represents trade union members before the criminal courts and professional regulatory bodies.
