
| | Melany Franklin is a partner with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (Toronto), practising labour, employment and human rights law, advising on a range of related issues. She represents employers and service providers in matters before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and labour arbitrators and in collective bargaining. In addition, Melany works with employers and third party investigators in misconduct investigations involving allegations of dishonesty, sabotage, harassment, discrimination and workplace violence. She has been involved in a number of continuing education programmes for Lancaster House, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Ontario Bar Association, and delivers NETA advocacy training. Melany is a current member of the American Bar Association (Workplace Investigations Sub-Committee), the Ontario Bar Association and the Advocates Society and is a past Executive Member of the Ontario Bar Association, Labour Law Section and former adjunct professor at Woodsworth College at the University of Toronto. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991. |
