Mary Gersht is Senior Counsel with the Legal Services Branch of the Ontario Management Board Secretariat, where she advises and represents provincial government employers in labour and employment matters. Ms. Gersht has appeared as counsel before arbitrators, courts, Labour Canada adjudicators, labour tribunals and Human Rights Commissions. She offers client-oriented practical advice on a broad range of employment related issues. From 1996 to 2001 she was a Senior Labour and Employment Lawyer, with the law firm of Fasken, Martineau DuMoulin. Prior to that she was a Senior Solicitor and in-house labour and employment counsel with Canadian Pacific Limited. She was directly involved in developing and implementing a variety of innovative human resource programs and advised on acquisitions, divestitures and plant or facility closures. Ms. Gersht writes and speaks regularly on labour and employment matters. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto Law School and was called to the Bar in 1980.
