Andrea Gillis recently established Andrea Gillis Consulting Inc., a legacy solutions workplace training, conflict management and consultancy practice. Prior to this, she worked as a lawyer in private law practice focussing on labour relations, collective bargaining, employment law, alternate dispute resolution (ADR), human resource training and policy development. Andrea has worked in various capacities in the municipal and university sectors. She advised in areas of human resource management, employment, labour, human rights, and occupational safety and was chief negotiator in numerous collective bargaining sessions. Andrea also taught Employment Law at Dalhousie Law School for several years, where she continues to be available as a guest lecturer. She taught the Workplace Conflict Resolution Program at Henson College. Andrea sits as a member of the Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Appeal Panel. For several years Andrea served as an expedited arbitration panelist and presently she serves as an arbitration panelist in labour matters. She graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology. |
