ANNE HEALY


 

 

Anne Healy is a National Staff Representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). Anne has extensive experience in labour relations and organizational development in both the private and public sectors, both within Canada and internationally. In her work in both the private and public sector Canadian trade union movement, Anne represents union members in collective bargaining, arbitrations, servicing, organizing and grassroots advocacy.

Anne has broad and varied experience as a Conflict Resolution facilitator within the workplace, the trade union movement, the women's movement and the community. She has developed and taught adult educational programs for the labour movement including Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Collective Bargaining, and a wide range of trade union skills development courses. Anne also has long-standing experience and commitment to the community-based social services sector in the areas of advocacy and services for women and low-income workers. Anne is a former Board member of Labour Council of Toronto and York Region, George Brown College Board of Governors, Family Service Association of Toronto, Advocates for Community Based Training and Education for Women among other organizations.

Anne's publications include: Our Union Our Rights, a Handbook for Union Activists, Hotel Employees Restaurant Employees Union, Toronto 2001 as well as co-authoring Bargaining Guide: Long Term Care 2007; Bargaining First Collective Agreements for Private For-Profit Nursing Homes; CUPE Long Term Care Sector, Toronto, April 2007. Recently, Anne completed professional development courses, including: Interpersonal Mediation, St. Stephen's Conflict Resolution Service Toronto 2010; University Of Ulster, Northern Ireland, International Conflict Research Institute, Interpersonal Mediation After Violent Political Conflict, 2011.
