| Tom Hodges is a labour mediator and arbitrator based in Calgary, Alberta. He is on the Alberta Ministry of Employment, Immigration and Industry’s roster of designated mediators. From 2005 until February 2008 Tom was Senior Vice-President, Labour Relations for Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC), during which time he led negotiations for HEABC with the BC Nurses’ Union to resolve issues flowing from the Supreme Court’s Health Services - Bill 29 decision on collective bargaining. Prior to joining HEABC Tom served as a roster mediator for the Ontario Court General Division in Ottawa, and for 15 years was director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, mediating over 300 labour disputes across Canada. Tom was General Chairman of the United Transportation Union’s Central Region while employed as a Conductor with CN Rail from 1971 until 1990. He has a Master’s degree in Conflict Management and has taught negotiations to managers and union representatives across Canada.
