| Nancy Johnson is an Occupational Health and Safety/Workers' Compensation Specialist for the Ontario Nurses' Association, and has worked for ONA since 1998. She spent nine years as a Labour Relations Officer providing general contract and negotiation services to northern members, as well as handling LTD and WSIB appeals and leading staff and members in occupational health and safety matters. Before coming to ONA, Nancy, a Laurentian University graduate, spent 20 years working in various investigative positions with the Ontario government, including five years as a health and safety inspector with the Ministry of Labour and a secondment with the Ontario Human Rights Commission. While with the government, she was active in various roles with Ontario Public Service Employees Union, including a two-year stint as union co-chair of a Ministry province-wide labour relations/ joint health and safety committee. Nancy has participated in numerous Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care planning committees on behalf of ONA, most recently sitting on Ontario's Pandemic Flu Plan Steering Committee.
