Johnston is a partner in the Halifax office of Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales.
Brian has practiced labour and employment law exclusively since graduation from
Dalhousie Law School in 1980. Brian represents employers in court, before federal
and provincial Labour Relations Boards, at arbitrations, as chief spokesperson
in collective bargaining and in human rights proceedings. Through a wide-ranging
practice, Brian acts as principal legal advisor to employers in the transportation,
off-shore oil and gas, manufacturing, health care, construction, retail, financial
services and hospitality industries. Brian is named in The Lexpert Guide to
the Top 500 Lawyers in Canada (2003, 2004) and recognized in the worldwide
