Barbara Johnston is a partner and head of the Labour and Employment Group in the Calgary office of Stikeman Elliott where she represents employers. Barbara practises labour, employment, human rights and privacy law. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.A. in History and Economics in 1990, from Queen's University with an LL.B. in 1993, and from Osgoode Hall Law School with an LL.M. in 2009. In 1999, Barbara earned a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. She has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the Court of Queen's Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and boards of arbitration. Barbara is a member of the executive of the Privacy Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (Southern Alberta) and is the former Chair of both the Labour and Employment Law and the Constitutional Law Subsections of the Canadian Bar Association (Southern Alberta). |
