Jamie Knight is a partner in the Toronto office of Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP, where he represents management in labour and employment law, including before the courts, arbitration boards, labour relations tribunals, as well as in adjudications in human rights, employment standards and health and safety matters. Jamie also has extensive experience in collective bargaining and assisting employers in interacting with trade unions. Jamie’s clients are in various sectors, including manufacturing, entertainment, services, municipalities, health and finance.
Jamie has authored or co-authored over a dozen publications for human resources professionals and lawyers. He is a frequent speaker and media commentator on labour and employment issues, including current employment law issues as well as planning for pandemic flu. In addition to specific client training sessions, Jamie has taught management and human resources employees in employment law programs at the University of Guelph for the past 16 years, with a focus on workplace safety and effective human resources management.
Jamie is the co-author of "How to Conduct a Workplace Human Rights Investigation", the "Canadian Human Rights Act Quick Reference" (2008) and the forthcoming "Ontario Human Rights Code Quick Reference" (2008). Mr. Knight received his LL.B. (1983) from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. |
