Katherine Lippel is a professor of law at the Faculty of Law (Civil Law Section) at the University of Ottawa, and holds the Canada Research Chair in Occupational Health and Safety Law. She is also associate professor at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the Université du Québec à Montréal, where she taught from 1982 until 2006, and is a member of the Quebec Bar. She specializes in legal issues relating to occupational health and safety and workers' compensation and is the author of several articles and books in the field. Her research interests include the following themes: work and mental health; health effects of compensation systems; precarious employment and occupational health; interactions between law and medicine in the field of occupational health and safety; women's occupational health; regulatory issues in occupational health and safety. Recent publications include two books on workers' compensation law and several articles on psychological harassment, therapeutic jurisprudence in the field of workers' compensation, precarious employment, occupational health and safety regulations and gender-based analysis of compensation systems. |
