SÉBASTIEN LORQUET


 

Sébastien Lorquet is a member of Heenan Blaikie’s Labour and Employment and Human Rights Law group in Ottawa. Sébastien offers his extensive experience of the various questions and challenges having an impact on an employer’s human resources management. He focuses on all aspects of individual and collective employment relations, including civil litigation due to terminations, labour standards matters, grievance arbitration, negotiation, labour conflicts, claims with regards to Quebec’s Act respecting labour standards, Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Code or the Canada Labour Code, the certification process, as well as human rights and labour law in the education sector.

Having studied both common law and Quebec’s civil law at the University of Ottawa, he practises in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and pleads in English and in French before courts, labour commissions, administrative tribunals as well as grievance arbitrators. Sébastien has been Chair of the Festival franco-ontarien since 2007. He participated in the Festival’s relaunch efforts as vice-president in 2006.

Sébastien received his B.B.A. in 1996; his LL.B. and M.B.A. in 2000; and his LL.L. in 2001, all from the University of Ottawa.
