Gráinne McGrath is a senior counsel with the Ontario Ministry of Labour’s Legal Services Branch. As Crown Coun-sel at the Ministry of Labour, she conducts regulatory prosecutions under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and represents the Ministry of Labour at administrative hearings before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, in judi-cial reviews, on appeals, and at Coroners’ Inquests. Gráinne provides legal and strategic advice to staff and senior management at the Ministry of Labour on operational, policy, and program issues, including issues specific to workplace violence and harassment. She has also served as executive assistant to the Deputy Minister of Labour and as counsel for the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Gráinne is a frequent speaker at educational and safety programs on topics related to Occupational Health and Safety, and is a co-author of The Annotated Occupational Health and Safety Act. Gráinne is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Osgoode Hall Law School. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1992. |
