| Grainne McGrath began practicing as Crown Counsel with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Legal Services Branch, Ministry of Labour in 1992. Ms. McGrath served as executive assistant to the Deputy Minister of Labour, Labour Management Services in 1993 and 1994. In 1998 and 1999 she was counsel for the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Presently, as Crown Counsel at the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Ms. McGrath is responsible for regulatory prosecutions under the Occupational Health and Safety Act at all levels of court in Ontario. Ms. McGrath represents the Ministry of Labour at administrative hearings before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, at judicial reviews before the Divisional Court, and at Corner’s Inquests into the deaths of workers. Ms. McGrath provides legal and strategic advice to staff and senior management on operational, policy, and program issues affecting the Ministry of Labour. Ms. McGrath is a frequent speaker at educational and safety programs on topics related to Occupational Health and Safety. Ms. McGrath was called to the Ontario bar in 1992. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Osgoode Hall Law School. |
