| John Murphy is President of Resource Environmental Associates Limited, an occupational health and hygiene consulting firm with expertise in infectious disease risk assessment and control. In his practice John advises governments, private organizations, and health care institutions on variety of workplace health and safety issues, including prevention and control of infections disease outbreaks. In 2008, his firm completed a significant project for the Government of Ontario involving evaluation of pandemic influenza transmission risks across the full range of work settings and occupations of the Ontario Public Service, resulting in production of an advisory reporting containing recommendations for implementation of non-pharmaceutical infection prevention and control measures.
John’s prior experience includes advising educational institutions, property management companies, and protective equipment manufacturers on pandemic preparedness. His firm also provided respiratory protection consulting advice and services to several SARS Alliance hospitals during the 2003 outbreak, and was retained to investigate and provide remediation advice and services for both the Grand River Hospital legionnaire’s disease outbreak in 2002, and the Seven Oaks Home for the aged outbreak in 2005.
John is a graduate of the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Registered Occupational Hygienist, and Member of the United Kingdom Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. |
