| Peggy O'Brien is a partner in the business law firm of Lawson Lundell LLP where she represents employers. She practices exclusively in the Employment and Labour law area. Ms. O’Brien appears regularly before the Human Rights Tribunal, the Workers’ Compensation Board and as counsel in wrongful dismissal and pension litigation. She routinely provides employment law advice to clients of the firm relating to employment practices, occupational health and safety, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and plant closures. She is actively involved in collective bargaining on behalf of corporations, and represents corporate clients at the Labour Relations Board and at arbitrations under collective agreements. She assists corporate clients in the recruitment of foreign workers to Canada and the transfer of corporate employees to Canadian branch or head offices. Ms. O’Brien is a member of the Labour, Employment Law and Human Rights Sections of the Canadian Bar Association and a member of the Human Resources Management Association. |
