Janice Payne is a partner at Nelligan O'Brien Payne and has been a member of the firm since being called to the Bar in 1976. She provides advice and service to her employee and employer clients in all employment-related matters in the public service and private sector. Janice represents her employment clients before administrative tribunals and the courts, and has also offered her services as a mediator/arbitrator to parties and their counsel in employment matters.
She has served as lead counsel on a number of employment related and other class actions and has also been appointed as representative counsel in insolvency matters for employee groups.
Janice is frequently asked to speak and write on employment issues. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Advocates' Society, is a former member of the Board of Directors and past President of the Ottawa Chamber Music Society, and is a current member of the Board of Directors of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.
