Allen Ponak is a full-time arbitrator based in Calgary with experience in all sectors of the economy. He is a named arbitrator in a number of national and regional collective agreements, and is part-time Vice-Chair of the federal Public Service Labour Relations Board. Many of his decisions have been reported in Labour Arbitration Cases and cited in Leading Cases in Arbitration. In 1992, he was admitted to the National Academy of Arbitrators, where he is currently Vice-President and Chair of the Canadian region. Until June 2006, Allen was a professor of Industrial Relations at the University of Calgary and the author of numerous articles, book chapters, and textbooks on union-management relations. He now holds Professor Emeritus status in that institution. In 2006, his film “Beyond Collision: High Integrity labour Relations” won the Silver Screen award at the Los Angeles International Film and Video Festival. |
