Elizabeth Rankin is the Senior Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Consultant in Gowlings’ Employment and Labour Group. She provides training, consulting and legal related guidance to management across Canada with respect to a variety of health and safety and workers’ compensation issues. Ms. Rankin also provides analysis of defendants’ OHS management systems and prepares legal defence for objections, appeals and trials. During her career, Ms. Rankin has managed health and safety in large unionized manufacturing facilities in the food, automotive and packaging industries and has worked with the Ontario Ministry of Labour Construction Program. Ms. Rankin is co-author with Norm Keith of A Practical Guide to Occupational Health and Safety Compliance in Ontario, Third Edition, due to be released in April 2006, and writes a quarterly column for Gowlings’ OHSLaw Report. Ms. Rankin is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering. She has an honours degree from Ryerson University, specializing in Occupational Health and Safety (1997). |
