Mark Rowlinson is Assistant to the National Director in the United Steelworkers’ Canadian National Office. He has represented the Steelworkers before various employment, labour and arbitration tribunals across the country as well as before the courts. Mark has also been involved in international labour rights matters, including acting as co-counsel in the Echlin/Dana complaint under the NAFTA labour side agreement (the "NAALC"), which was the first such complaint heard in Canada. He has continued to be involved in litigation under the NAALC and has appeared on several occasions before Parliamentary Committees to speak on Trade and Labour Rights issues. Mark received a B.A. from McGill University and a graduate degree in Developing Area Studies from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He received an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1994. |
