| Andrée St-Georges was appointed president of the Commission des relations du travail on January 10, 2005. After her admission to the Bar of the province of Quebec in 1975, she became legal counsel at the Fédération des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec ( F.I.I.Q) where she stayed until 1991. From 1981 to 1987, she also lectured labour law at the University of Montreal. In 1991, she was named Labour Commissionner at the Bureau du commissaire général du travail du Québec. In 2000, she was promoted to the position of commissionner-coordinator. She was still coordinator when the Commission des relations du travail was created on November 2002 and she continued to act as commissionner-coordinator until her appointment as president. She also sits at the Conseil de la Justice administrative du Québec. |
