
| | Paul Straszak is the President and CEO of the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat at the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development. Previously, he was Associate Deputy Minister with the Ministry of Labour and Citizens’ Services.
Paul was with the B.C. Public Service Agency from 2005 to 2007, where he held the position of Assistant Deputy Minister, Employee Relations. In that role, he was lead negotiator for the Government in its negotiations with the B.C. Government and Services Employees Union, acted as government representative in the teachers' negotiations, and bargained the deal with Crown Counsel. Paul has more than 27 years’ experience in the labour relations field with both federally and provincially regulated employers. Prior to coming to government in 2005, Paul held the position of Director of Labour Relations at CN Rail. Before that, he held senior labour relations positions at B.C. Rail, Air Canada, Canadian Airlines and Canada Post Corporation.
Paul graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, and has a Masters' degree in Business Administration from McGill University.
