| David Streb is a union staff representative and coordinator of negotiations for the British Columbia Government and Service Employees Union (BCGSEU). A journeyman cabinetmaker, he was elected to the position of Secretary-Treasurer of the Carpenters’ Union, Local 1928 in 1984, and later held the position of president of the Lower Mainland District Council of Carpenters.David was hired by the BCGSEU in 1993 and there represented workers at labour arbitration hearings and at the Labour Relations Board until 2003. He moved to the negotiations department in 2003 where he negotiated several collective agreements, including the sectoral agreement in the college sector. He is currently the chief spokesperson for the Community Bargaining Association which is a multi-union sectoral bargaining association. David graduated from Acadia University in 1968. |
