Fran Watters is Director of Faculty Relations at the University of British Columbia, a position she has held for the past six years. She is responsible for, among other things, negotiating the faculty collective agreement, providing advice to Heads, Deans and the Provost on day to day issues concerning union and non-union faculty, post-doctoral fellows and research associates, and advising the University on strategic issues concerning faculty. . Prior to her present position, she was Associate Chair of the B.C. Labour Relations Board, responsible for the Adjudication Division of the Board. She started her career in labour law with the Vancouver law firm of Alexander Holburn Beaudin and Lang where she was a partner in the labour and employment law group.
