Dr. Michael Yamanaka is the Assistant Medical Director of Workplace Health and Safety with the B.C. Public Service Agency, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Michael received his M.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1995. He obtained his M.Sc. Public Health Sciences and received his FRCPC speciality training in Occupational Medicine from the University of Alberta in 2000. His main areas of interest include: occupational rehabilitation, medical fitness examinations for safety sensitive work, and fitness to return to work evaluations.
